Here is what the critic writes about him:

“As a sacred existential totalitarian fire, art is, to Gianfranco Peiretti, a strong emotion that belongs to his same life. But if in the creative surge the artist ideally brings to the Hispanic passionate nature and to Gacia Lorca’s fire, his artistic work instead get dressed with transcendence and with a blue research; thanks to this research in the expressive experimentation, the material becomes representation of the sky. But his chromatic scales, even though they cross the famous “Klein Blue”, move on totally unpublished developements. Starting from the lesson of neoplasticism, of the Optical Art and Vasarely’s lesson, today Peiretti is arrived to elaborate an experimentation, in which the picture-installation becomes a chance for the observer to enter and choose his own dimension. -...- “From the public to experts and to the artist himself, as someone who takes delight from his own work, - underlines Lucio Cabutti - whoever can immerse in this “environmentale” creativness and individualize, as in the underwater observation of an unknown abyss, a deeply arcane reality, between project and behaviour, over its clearest and aware appearances: that interaction between the daily of life and the farsighted and deeply moved resonance of art, between the lived space of existence and the encoded, scenic and alien space of formal structure”. Versatile, nevertheless, the field of Peiretti’s research; he is now fascinated by the sculpture and by the dialogue that springs from the found again poetry of the manual tool, reach of meanings and vehicle of equally strong linguistic expression, in search of internal and autobiographic sublimation. A sincere and partecipated operate, underlined by Angelo Dragone, who a long time ago has introduced him during the show in the Lanterna of Moncalieri: “There is who still works convinced that art can arise from a sort of visual emulation of a selected, true or not, motive, and in the last decades more than one devoted themselves to revisit other’s people inventions, renaming this job, by the same standard asan original creative tendency, as “revisitation”, “citationism” and othe analogous definitions. Gianfranco Peiretti, instead, is part of those people who above all questioned themselves: it rather sounds as though he looks inside himself, as to draw on his own unconscious, to survey together every geometric potentiality, characteristic of visual structures to which he is inclined togive life...”.
